| Hey Guys, Today I'm going to show you how to spice up your back to school notebooks! Washi Tape is like a thinner lighter masking tape with tons of cute designs. Using wash tape, I was able to transform my notebooks. Now I did the back of my notebooks not the front. Since the cover was plastic, I was afraid it wouldn't stick. But you can decorate either side. What you need: A mat X acto knife Washi Tape Notebook(s) Chevron Pattern 1 - Start out by laying all of your Washi Tape on the mat. I used six colors but you can use as many as you want. Then I cut the ends to make sure they were straight. 2 - Next I placed a small piece onto my notebook at the top at an angle. 3 - The rest of the pieces I placed down were longer than the first. You have to remember to place the tape where the end of the piece above it ends. Other wise you won't get the chevron effect. 4 - Keep placing Washi Tape to about half way then trim the edges by folding your notebook so that it is just the cover. Then use your knife to trim the edges on the mat. 5 - Keep going until you get to the end. Trim any excess and you are done! Optional - you can use hairspray to give it a shiny finish and to make sure the ends don't come up. If you choose to use hairspray, lightly spray the entire cover. Triangle Pattern 1 - Start by laying out all of your Washi Tape on your mat. 2 - This time, you will cut small triangles by cutting diagonal lines and connecting them. 3 - Place the triangles on your notebook in any way you want to make a design. 4 - Once you are finished, lightly spray with hairspray because the comers of the triangles come up and the hairspray will keep them down and give it a glossy finish. I hope you liked this tutorial. I really like Washi Tape because you can do almost anything with it. Comment below if you tried this and how it worked for you. <3 Ellie |
