The Selection, By Kiera Cass The Selection is a personal favorite of mine. The Selection is about 17 year old America Singer and her life at the palace. It is set in the future in the country of Illea (the United States in the future). Her life is divided by castes. She is a five. Fives are artists and musicians. When the prince of Illea is eligible, a selection is held to find the prince's bride. Aspen, America's love at home, tells America to sign up hoping that the prince can offer a better life for her than he can. America signs up and is chosen along with 34 other girls. At first she is miserable and doesn't want to be there. But as her relationship with Maxon (the prince) grows, she finds herself enjoying life at the palace. For the rest I guess you guys will have to find out for your selves because there will be no spoilers :) I found this book a couple of months ago. I was instantly impressed by the writing and how America grows throughout the book. I especially like her relationship with Maxon. The plot really pulls you in. There were so many twists and turns. I found my self talking to my self or gasping when something unexpected happened. I literally could not put this book down while I was reading it. I also like the setting. I think it was really cool to read about the future of the United States. I think all of you guys should read this and recommend it to all of your friends. I give Kierra Cass a round of applause and five stars. Also don't forget to check out the next two books in the series, The Elite and The One. Happy Reading! <3 Ellie P.S. Don't forget to vote for which one you like best! | The Gallagher Girls Series, By Ally Carter The Gallagher Girls Series is one of my all-time favorite book series. It is about a teenage girl named Cameron, (or Cammie) Morgan. She and her roommates (who double as bffs) go to a school called Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women. Everyone in town thinks it's a snobby rich kid school, but in reality, its a school for elite spies. The books in the series have fun, clever titles such as "Don't Judge a Girl By Her Cover" and "Only the Good Spy Young." Read the books in the image above in the order from right-to-left. Throughout the series, Cammie and her roommates (Bex, Liz, and Macey) go on many dangerous adventures. They go on totally fun challenges for class as well. One that I thought was really cool was when they went to a carnival, and the girls were assigned to figure out "what is in his left pocket," or "what did that piece of paper say that she put in her purse." This was one of the basics, but I guarantee their homework, is much more fun then ours! They learn and perform challenging spy maneuvers, such as brush passes, tailing, pick-pocketing, and of course travel in awesome secret passage ways. You will meet many people along the way, such as the "gorgeous" Zach Goode. I think this book has just the perfect amount of balance between danger, romance, surprises, and creativity. These books are universal in the sense that every reader will relate to the book and enjoy it. They have something in them for every reader. I highly suggest you join Cammie and the Gallagher Girls for their amazing adventures. I guarantee you will love these books. A much deserved five stars to Ally Carter, and these super amazing (and REALLY WELL WRITTEN) books. Stop reading this and go to the store now, and buy these books. They are that good. I really wish there were movies. :) I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! <3 Taylor P.S. Don't forget to vote for which one you like best! |
