- Hey guys! I just wanted to let all of you know about my HUGE craving for acaí bowls right now! I'm not sure if you've ever tried it, but let me tell you, acaí bowls are so amazing. They are really popular here right now, and they're a fruity, nutritious treat perfect for the summer! In this post, I will be giving you recommendations on this delicious food, where you can get it, and how you can make it. They are kind of like.... healthy ice cream!!
WHERE TO GET IT:
Well, there are many Acaí bowls I've had that are quite delicious. My top three, however, would have to be at:
-- Swami's Cafe
--Sambazon
-- Acaí Republic
If you search up acaí bowls, I guarantee one or more of those places will show up. If you're wondering what exactly acaí is, well I'm about to tell you. It is a purple "super fruit" (soooo good for you!) that is usually served blended, in a smoothie form. It can be topped off with granola, fruits, and other yummy toppings. I have even seen a peanut-butter chocolate acaí bowl and a coconut mango one! You can literally eat in with anything!
I usually get an acaí bowl after I work out, go running, sports practice, yoga, or any type of physical activity. The reason why is because it tastes cold and refreshing afterwards. And, you don't feel guilty because you're not wasting that hard-earned calorie burnage with a big ol' ice cream!
Here is a recipe for a simple acaí bowl:
Ingredients:
1 Sambazon (or other brand) acaí pack
frozen and unfrozen strawberries
1 cup unfrozen blueberries
1 cup almond milk
granola
sliced bananas (optional)
bee pollen (optional)
shredded coconut (optional)
First, break your acaí pack into chunks. Then, stick the pieces inside the blender. (Vitamix is recommended). Put in about 7 frozen strawberries, half of the blueberries, an almond milk. Blend on low until all the ingredients are COMPLETELY mixed in. Put the acaí mixture into a bowl, and coat the top with granola. I suggest to put a little more than you think, because it's nice to have a little on every spoonful. Cut the unfrozen strawberries into quarters. Now, make a pretty, symmetrical design on top of the granola with the cut up strawberries, the other half of the blueberries, and any other toppings you would like. Ellie, Abby, and I all really love acaí bowls. I hope you love this healthy, delicious treat!
Enjoy!
